    Going 1 1/2 miles on the turf, DARING DUCHESS( Arch) won the FLAMING PAGE S. at Woodbine. Last year she won the KEERTANA OVERNIGHT S and the Via Borghese Stakes and was placed in the  G3 Bewitch S at Keeneland. for Kenneth & Sarah Ramsey. This year she was placed in the KEERTANA, the Prevoyante Handicap (Gr. 3)  and the Very One S (G3). The 6-year-old mare is another of Mike's wise claims. She was claimed for the Ramseys for $35,000 at Saratoga. She has now earned over $404,000.

  • 2 year SOMELIKEITHOTBROWN won 2nd time out at Saratoga

    2 year NYBred  colt  SOMELIKEITHOTBROWN bobbled at the start and ended up quite far off the pace, but made a 5 wide move to clear the field and win his second start . He won where is counted - Saratoga  - going 1 1/18 on the turf in a race originally scheduled for 1 1/16 on the turf.     Racing a mile on the turf at Ellis Park in the Kentucky Downs Preview Ladies Turf Stakes , the well-traveled I'M BETTY G (f, 4, Into Mischief- Lady in Ermine, by Honour and Glory) wired the field to win her second stakes in a row and her third race in a row. In her last start, she cleared the field early and drove on to a win in the Lady Canterbury S. at Canterbury Downs also racing a mile on the turf.   • HEMP HEMP HURRAY 2nd in the KING CORRIE at Woodbine

    A stakes winner at 2 in the Tyro Stakes  at Monmouth and at 3 in the Animal Kingdom Stakes at Turfway, HEMP HEMP HURRAY (Artie Schiller) added to his resume in the KING CORRIE S at Woodbine. He closed well from off the pace to be second. He already has a graded stakes placing to his name  in the Summer S G2 also at Woodbine  Bred by Bernard & Karen McCormack and owned by the Ramsey, he has earned over $172,000.

    Mike had the second and third placed finishers in the Leematt S at Presque Isle Downs.  Hanson's graded-stakes winning son FAST AND ACCURATE  rans second. In 2018 he has been stakes placed in the Miesque Approval, the Kentucky Cup Classic and the Old Man Eloquent S. in 2017, he won the Jack Cincinnati Casino Spiral Stakes (Gr. 3) and his earnings now stand at $454,547.     Crossing the wire in third was BERN' JAMES BERN (Bernstein)  who was claimed by Mike this January. BERN' JAMES BERN is a very professional race horse who has a recond of 45 7-10-12 and earnings of over $310,00. This is exactly the older gelding Mike can keep happy and productive.

  • 2 stakes placed horses at Arlington for the Maker Barn

    SOGLIO (Scat Daddy) ran a game 3rd in the Stars and Stripes Stakes (Gr. 3) at Arlington Park to add another graded stakes placing for the Ramseys, He was bred by  Flaxman Holdings Limited. He has earned over $200,000.

    Als at Arlington Park, GO NONI GO (Get Stormy) ran 3rd in the Hatoof S. The 3-year-old filly is owned by Three Diamonds and her earnings are approaching $200,000.


    7-year-old millionaire and MGSW BIGGER PICTURE (Badge of Silver) owned by Three Diamonds Farm, recent winner of the John B Connally S G3 for the 2nd year in a row, added to his laurels, running third in the United Nations Stakes (Gr. 1). Mike certainly keeps these older gelding happy and eager to compete. Making his 32nd start, BIGGER PICTURE has now earned $1,149,635.



  • BIG day at Canterbury Park for the MAKER BARN

    The well-traveled I'M BETTY G (Into Mischief) cleared the field early and drove on to a win in the Lady Canterbury S. at Canterbury Downs racing a mile on the turf to make it 2 visits to the winner's circle in a row for her owner Three Diamonds Farm. Also a stakes winner is SNIPER KITTEN, bearing the mark of owner-breeder Ken Ramsey in more than one way, won his stakes debut Saturday night at Canterbury Park, capturing the $200,000 Mystic Lake Derby, the richest race of the Canterbury meeting, by one length over longshot Nobrag Justfact. 

  • LOVE THY KITTEN graduates at Woodbine

    2nd last out at Churchill Downs, LOVE THY KITTEN took to the Woodbine grass going a mile and an eighth and coming from off the pace, wore down her foes for the win. She is a homebred for Kenneth L. & Sarah K. Ramsey (KY). and is Sweet Ki a full totten, Ch. Imp. 2-year-old filly-PR, $182,673; Saint Prado, SW, $217,780; and Tweet Kitten, SW, $199,765. She is trained by Mike with Ramsey grandson Nolan saddling her.

    SIPPIN KITTEN trained by Mike for owner/breeder Kenneth L. Ramsey & Sarah K. Ramsey stepped up from her maiden win at Keeneland into stakes company to run second in the Northbound Pride Oaks at Canterbury Downs. Going a mile on the turf, she tracked the pace in the second flight, had to steady briefly then angled out 5 wide to close willingly for the place.

    6-year-old stakes winning mare, SUSIE BEE (English Channel) who took the CHRISTMAS PAST S, added another stakes win to her credit, winning the Powder Break S at Gulfstream .for owner Calumet Farm, It was her 7th  win and she has earned over $377,000.

    GSW FAST AND ACCURATE (Hansen) winner of the  Grade 3 Spiral Stakes at Turfway Park at 2, added to his laurels running third in the  Miesques Approval S  at Gulfstream. He has earned  $434,547 for owner Dr. Kendall Hansen,.

    Racing 7 furlongs on the turf,  SW I'M BETTY G (f, 4, Into Mischief) winner of the Pearl Necklace Stakes and multiple stakes-placed since that win, went to the lead soon after the start in this 2x allowance race and extended her advantage from there to record a 1 1/2-length victory. She has earned  $210,465 for owner Three Diamonds.

  • MGSW OSCAR NOMINATED by KITTEN'S JOY second in the G2- Dixiana Elkhorn S

    Recent winner of the $200,000 W. L. McKnight Handicap (G3T), Oscar Nominated chased the pace and then big 3 wide down the lane. He had to settle for the place this timel He has earned over $1,475,000. 

    Since being claimed by Mike Maker for  the Ramseys for $75,000 in 2015, Oscar Nominated has notched five wins—all in stakes company—consistently holding his own against some of the best in the turf marathon ranks. The Kitten's Joy  ridgling captured the Calumet Farm Kentucky Turf Cup Stakes (G3T) at Kentucky Downs in September and was second to fellow McKnight entrant Bullards Alley in the Pattison Canadian International Stakes (G1T) before ending his season with an eighth-place run in the Red Smith Handicap (G3T) in November.

    BATTLE AT SEA (Into Mischief) graduated last out and made it two in a row taking the Crescent City Derby at the Fair Ground, in fact he wired the field. BATTLE AT SEA is owned by Three Diamonds Farm and was bred by Clear Creek Stud. 
    On the same card, MSW TRUST FACTOR ran third in the Costa Rising S for Scrivener Stables. He has upped his earnings to $290.600.

  • G3 stakes placing for I'M BETTY G and 2 wins at Gulfstream

    I'M BETTY G (Into Mischief ) dead-heated for 3rd in the Albert M Stall Memorial S at the Fair Grounds. The 4-year-old filly is a multiple SW and has multiple graded stakes placings. She has earned $162,465. Mike also was busy with a series of starter stakes at Gulfstream with FAST AND ACCURATE running third and raising his earnings over $410,000 for Kendall E Hansen and Skychai Racing, CASJ+H CALL KITTEN and BEACH WALTZ both winning for the Ramseys.

  • SW HOMEMADE SALSA adds more black type -

    HOMEMADE SALSA (Two Step Salsa) became a SW at 2, winning the Juvenile Fillies Turf. Running back at 3, she added more black type for her owner Get Away Farm running third in the Cincinnati Trophy S at Turfway Park. 

    At Gulfstream, Graded stakes-placed Conquest Windycity (Tiznow) won a contentious allowance race going 7 furlongs. The 5-year-old was a claim last fall for David Staudacher. He has bankrolled close to $275,000.

  • Millionaire HOGY adds to his laurels in the JANUS at Gulfstream

    Veteran 9 year old multiple graded stakes winner and millionaire HOGY hit the board again in a stakes race, coming in 2nd in the Janus S at Gulfstream sprinting on the turf. He has an amazing record of 48 17-13-6. HOGY was a Mike Maker claim for owner Michael M Hui. In 2017 alone he won or hit the board in 6 stakes, 2 of them graded. This is a horse who loves his job,

    RUN TIME (Gio Ponti)  won the H. Allen Jerkens at Gulfstream for Bloom Racing Stable and Joseph Allen LLC - his first black type win. He has earned $270,797.

     On the same card, DARLING DUCHESS (Arch)  won the Via Borghese S at Gulfstream for the Ramseys  and upped her earnings to $199,704 .

    Also on the Gulfstream card, I'M BETTY G (Into Mischief) ran third in the Tropical Park Oaks for owner Three Diamonds Farm. She has earned $145,465.

    At the Fair Grounds, SW KITTEN'S CAT (Kitten's Joy) added more black type to his pediogree running third in the Woodchopper S   for the Ramseys. He has earned $328,576

  • MSW SIR DUDLEY DIGGLES adds black type + a nice allowance winnep

    MULTIPLE STAKES WINNER SIR DUDLEY DIGGES (Gio Ponti) ran second in the Buddy Diliberto Memorial S at the Fair Grounds. Recently he won the Old Friends S at KY DOWNS for the Ramseys. He has bankrolled over $820,000. 

    On the same day, Ohio Bred filly MYSTIC BRIDGE (Magna Graduate) won her second in allowance company, this time at Mahoning Valley Race Course for owner Mark Breen. She dropped back, and then came on again determinedly for the win. She has won 2 of 4 starts.

  • 2 yo MALIBU SAINT wins the Wait A While S - TRUST FACTOR 3rd in the Louisiana Champions Day Turf S

    2-year-old filly MALIBU SAINT (Malibu Moon) won the Wait A While S at Gulfstream for owner Treadway Racing Stable. She was bred by Jim Wells & Candy Meadows LLC.The filly broke her maiden in her first out running on the turf at Indiana Grand. She followed that with a runner-up position in allowance company. Today she settled behind a wall of horses but began to come on after swinging wide as she entered the stretch.  MALIBU SAINT was bumped by a drifting out rival but held on for the game victory.

    On the same day at the Fair Grounds, TRUST FACTOR was third in the Louisiana Champions Day Turf S and raised his earnings to over $248,000 for owner Scrivener Stables.

  • Mike co-ownede Queen`s Fate 2nd by a mose in the Ontario Lassie S.

    2-year old filly Queen`s Fate (Artie Schiller) ran second BY A NOSE in the Ontario Lassie S at Woodbine. She charged late and just missed.  The filly is owned by Mike and Maxis Stable and has a win ( a MSW at Keeneland), a second and a third in 3 starts. Keep an eye on this one.



    SW SPECIAL OPS, winner of the West Virginia House of Delegates Speaker's Cup Stakes (Listed)  won his second in a row - this one in claiming company at  Kentucky Downs- making him eligible for the Claiming Crown series where trainer Mike Maker excels. This move paid off well as he won the Claiming Crown Emerald S at Gulfstream. He is owned by  Skychai Racing and has now earned  over $375,000 with 8 wins out of 28 starts. 2nd was Bingo Kitten for the Ramseys

    GILDED LILY, a 3-year-old Speightstown filly, wheeled out for the win at Turfway for owner  Tracy Farmer. She loves the surface at Turfway and this is her third win over it. She was also on the board in the Bourbonette Oaks G3 over the all weather surface.

    Earlier on the card trainer Mike won his 2,000th race - this makes 2,001!

  • 1st out 2 yo winner for KITTEN'S JOY and the MAKER BARN

    Going 1 1/8 on the turf,  YEAR OF THE KITTEN (c, 2, Kitten's Joy--Transformation, by Langfuhr), let go at 8-1, was away alertly and on the front end in the early strides before settling well off the pace. He made rapid progress on the final turn and gained a narrow advantage with a four-wide move into the stretch before forging clear late to win by 1 3/4 lengths. I

  • 2 stakes winners at Gulfstream Wet

    ENTERPRISING (Elusive Quality) added to his resume, winning the Millions Turf Preview S  for owner Maxis Stable and pushing his earnings over $882,000. ENTERPRISING, was a game last out winner of the G3 Fair Grounds H.and then made it two straight with a narrow score in the G2- Muniz Memorial H at the Fair Grounds earlier this year.

    On the same card, 2-year-old filly HOMEMADE SALSA (Two Step Salsa) won the Juvenile Fillies Turf and added black type for her owner Get Away Farm. She has 2 wins and a 3rd in 3 starts!

  • SW AL'S GAL claimed and trained by Mike brings $950 as a broodmare

    Claimed for $35,000 by Mike for the Ramseys, AL'S GAL (English CHannel) flourished under Mike's care moving from the claiming ranks all the way to multiple graded stakes placings and a G1 win in the E. P. Taylor S. Presented by HPIBet (Gr. 1) at Woodbine. Yesterday she sold as an in foal  broodmare for $950,000.


    Maker outdistanced his peers with 13 wins to secure his fifth leading trainer title at Keeneland. He previously won in the spring of 2016 and 2013, and fall of 2013 and 2008. Hall of Famer Steve Asmussen finished second with nine victories during the meet. Casse was third with seven wins, including the three aforementioned stakes wins. 
    On the final day. Tarquinia (Speightstown) sored a 6 length allowance win( her second) over the sloppy track for Three Diamonds.

  • Nice 2 yo winner at Keeneland + a bonus win

    Third, in her first start at KY Downs, QUEEN'S FATE ( Artie Schiller) raced 1 1/16 on the turf to graduate in a MSW for Owner: Maxis Stable and breeder Josham Farms Limited & Yvonne Schwabe Thoroughbreds. The Ontario bred filly has earned over $36.000 in her two starts lifetime. Keep an eye on this one long on the turf.

    A bonus on the card was the win by FUTILE (Broken Vow) also owned by Maxis Stable who upped his earnings over $100,000.

  • Mike gets two more G1 stakes placings and a strong allowance win for the Ramseys

    OSCAR NOMINATED won the Dueling Grounds Derby last out and was close to track record time, and drawing away under hand ride to win by 6 1/4 lengths on the wire. Today he had to settle for the place in the Pattison Canadian International Stakes (Gr. 1), but he added to his coffer for the Ramseys and now has earned over a million - two. On the same card, tje Ramsey's 5-year-old mare stakes winning KITTEN'S ROAR added more graded black-type in the E. P. Taylor Stakes (Gr. 1). She has bankrolled over $715,000. Add to that a great allowance win at Keeneland by 7 year old gelding SHINING COPPER, a claim for the Ramsey's 2 years ago, who has run in nothing but stakes races since the claim, winning 1 and stakes placed in 3 others. He has earned $640,000.

  • 8 year old HOGY adds G2 stakes placing in his 3rd lifetime Woodward S.

    Just a couple of months ago Mike Maker took a chance there was still life left in HOGY's 8-year-old legs. On Sept. 9, the $80,000 the trainer laid out for the veteran Offlee Wild gelding and he officially became a savvy bargain buy. Hogy added to his indefatigable reputation when he won the $400,000 Kentucky Downs Turf Sprint Stakes (G3T)—his first graded score since 2013.

    Running in the G 2 Woodford S.at Keeneland for the 3rd time in his 46 race career, HOGY ran second for his newest owner Michael Hui. He has earned over $1,100,000!

    Stakes placed St LOUIE (Arch) won going 1 1/2 on the Keeneland  grass for owner Three Diamonds. He upped his earnings over $308,000. Racing  1 1/8 also on the turf for the same owner, WAR BOND (War Front added a 4th win. He has earned over $142,000.

  • GIANNA'S DREAM wins her 3rd stakes - another great claim

    4 year old filly GIANNA'S DREAM (Twirling Candy) added a third stakes win to her resume winning the Ricks Memorial Stakes  at Retama Park going 1 1/16 on the turf. She settled and then cleared the field to win by 1 1/4. In addition to her stakes wins, GIANNA'S DREAM is also graded stakes placed in the Violet S G3 at Monmouth. She is owned by Jordan V. Wycoff and was bred by Center Hills Farm & Randy Blair. GIANNA'S DREAM is another of Mike's wise claims. He claimed her in August of 2016 for $25,000 at Saratoga. Since the claim she has won 3 stakes and been placed in 2 others not to mention ab allowance win. To date she has earned over $323,000. 


    Mike made one of Ken Ramsey's wishes come true for sure. Ken was able to present himself  with the trophy for the RAMSEY FARM S. at KY Downs, Trained by Mike, multiple graded stakes placed and stakes winning mare KITTEN'S ROAR blew past her rivals to capture the race with ease. She has now earned over $635,000. This is her 6th win lifetime. She is trained by Mike Maker.

    MSW HAPPY MESA (Sky Mesa) owned by  Out Of This World Racing LLC and bred by  Branch Equine, LLC had a willing second in the Ladies  Sprint at KY DOWNS. She upped her earnings to $236,555.

  • SIR DUDLEY DIGGES takes the Old Friends at Ky Downs

    MULTIPLE STAKES WINNER SIR DUDLEY DIGGES (Gio Ponti) won the Old Friends S at KY DOWNS for the Ramseys. He has bankrolled over 3/4 of a million dollars. Today he found a comfortable spot and then fanned wide to get up for the win after a long drive. He won by a head.

    IN Bred RETROSPECTION (Daaher) wins another stakes race - the Governors S at Indiana Grand. He broke his maiden last year at 2 and came back in his sophomore year with 2 seconds in allowance company at Indiana Grand and then won the Hoosier Breeders Sophomore Stakes by a head. The win in the Governors S is his third win of which 2 are in stakes He has earned over $198,000 for owner Beth Burkett and  breeder Randy Burkett.

    Mike Maker sends 5yo BIG BROWN gelding SPECIAL OPS all over the country to race. This time he won the the WEST VIRGINIA HOUSE OF DELEGATES SPEAKER'S CUP S. at Mountaineer. He  got his first stakes placing in the Warrior Veterans Stakes running 1 1/16 on the turf  at Indiana Downs. He has been seen at Aqueduct, Belmont, Saratoga, PARX, Churchill, Keeneland, and the Fair Grounds! He has earned $259,262 for his owner SkyChai Stable and breeder Candy Meadows LLC. Right behind SPECIAL OPS was GALTON (Offlee Wild) who races for Michael Hui.

He came within a neck of wining the Bowling Green G2.  Victorious in the GIII John B. Connally in January, the chestnut checked in fourth in Gulfstream’s GII Mac Diarmida S. Mar. 4 and was third over a yielding course at Keeneland in the GII Dixiana Elkhorn S. Apr. 22. The gelding unleashed a furious late turn of foot to get up just in time to deny the Motion-trained Canthelpbelieving (Ire) (Duke of Marmalade {Ire}) by a head in Monmouth’s GI United Nations S. at this race’s 1 3/8-mile distance July 1.

    MSW PARTLY MOCHA missed by a head  sprinting in the Bob Umphrey Turf Sprint Stakes at Gulfstream. He came wide but ran out of track. He had the same thing happen in the Mighty Beau Overnight Stakes last mornth and the Claiming Crown stakes on opening day at Gulfstream. The  8 year old gelding turned the tables winning the Bucharest Turf Sprint S at Sam Houston and the Frontier Utilities Turf Sprint Stakes also at Sam Houston.  He is owned by the Ramseys , he was a wise claim for his new connections last year at Saratoga. PARTLY MOCHAhas earned over $481,000 and is wonderfully consistent with a record of 40: 9 10 7.

Also at Churchill and also for the Ramseys, Hunka Burning Love (Into Mischief) won an $100,000 AOC and pushed his earnings over $100,000. Mike;s own horse Caniform (Scat Daddy) broke his maiden going 6 furlongs on the dirt. .

    Iowa Bred Han Sense (Hansen) also ran second in a stakes race, his was the Grays Lake S  at Prairie Meadows for owner Kendall E Hansen. 

    Finally at Penn National, Lillie`s Answer (Kitten's Joy) ran third in the Lyphard S, adding black type to her name for owner Three Diamonds Farm and successfully added value as a broodmare.

    Going 1 1/2 miles on the turf,  DARING DUCHESS( Arch) won the KEERTANA OVERNIGHT S for Kenneth & Sarah Ramsey. She is another of Mike's wise claims. She was claimed for the Ramseys for $35,000 at Saratoga. She kept a low profile initially and then in her first start in 2017, she was second to Quiet Business in the GIII Bewitch S at Keeneland. In the KEERTANA she seized control early and easily  scored her first black-type victory. She has earned over $200,000.

    Also a SW was SUSIE BEE (English Channel) who took the  CHRISTMAS PAST S.for owner Calumet Farm, It was her fifth win and she has earned $280,863..

    Stakes placed was Gorgeous Kitten in the G3- Arlington Classic S  adding his first graded black type for his owners, the for the Ramseys.

    Also winning was 8 year old multiple graded staked placed Hammers Terror, claimed 2 years ago for owner Michael M. Hui.Hammers Terror has earned over $500,000.

  • TAGHLEEB second in the G1 Man O War at Belmont

    Michael Hui's TAGHLEEB picked up his first graded score this Janauary in the $200,000 W. L. McKnight Handicap (G3T) at Gulfstream Park. The 6-year-old son of Hard Spun  came off a victory in the H. Allen Jerkens Stakes at Gulfstream. Facing the heavy rain at Belmont and a yielding turf course, he overcame a bobble at the start and a wide trip and finished well to be second in the G1 Man O War. He has earned $538,029. MGSW CHARMING KITTEN. also from the Maker barn, garnered 4th and pushed his earnings over a million!

    On the KY Derby card, MSW OSCAR NOMINATED ran third in the G1- Woodford Reserve Turf Classic S and bumped his earnings to $806,195 for his owners the Ramseys. He was bred by Mrs Jerry Amerman. At Gulfstream 3 year old filly Blame the Law added black type to her pedigree running third is the Honey Ryder S. This will up her broodmare value for owner Jordan V Wycoff.

    On Derby day SW SIR DUDLEY DIGGES closed and then had to fight back another closer who got by him. Fight he did and he drew off to win over a soaked turf course. He is pushing 3/4 of a million dollars in earnings for the Ramseys,

    GSW INTERNATIONAL STAR, winner of last year's Louisiana Derby G2 ran third in the Alysheba S.  Gr. 2 . On a speed favoring sloppy track he closed willingly when he got the green light to be third. He upped his earnings over $1,240,000. He is owned by the Ramseys.

    Tiger of Wales gained his first black type in the Bosselman Pump and Pantry/Gus Fonner Stakes. He is owned by  J. Armando Rodriguez Racing Stable, Inc. and was bred by Carol Kemp. Tiger of Wales has earned over $150,000.

    At Churchill in the William Walker S, SW EN HANSE added a place via DQ. He is a homebred for Kendall E Hansen. Skier  Bode Miller is a co-owner. EN HANSE had to fan 8 wide to find racing room.He has earned over $100,000. 

  • DARING DUCHESS gains her first stakes placing in a G3

    5 year old mare, DARING DUCHESS (Arch), gained the lead in the Bewitch G3, but could not hold off a closer in the stretch and had to settle for the place. Still she added graded black-type to her pedigree page and upped her earnings over $167,000. The mare is owned by the Ramseys and this will make her anticpated date with Kitten's Joy all the sweeter.

    MSW CHARMING KITTEN ran second in the G2- Dixiana Elkhorn S at Keeneland for the Ramseys and is pushing a million dollars in earnings. He was bothered by traffic and was rolling at the end. The 7 year old is a money making machine. Following in the show position was MGSW BIGGER PICTURE (Badge of Silver) for owner Three Diamonds Farm. He has earned over $650,000.  



    Ramseys, Maker Repeat at Turfway: Ken and Sarah Ramsey were the leading owners at Turfway Park for the 12th time when racing concluded at the Florence, Kentucky track's winter/spring meet Apr. 1. The Ramseys, who were also the leading owners at Gulfstream=s championship meet which concluded Sunday, sent out 12 winners from 40 Turfway starters. Mike Maker earned his fifth consecutive Turfway training title, and 19th overall, saddling 27 winners during the 46-day meeting. Alonso Quinonez captured the first riding title of his career with 50 wins from 266 mounts. Racing returns to Turfway Nov. 29.

    Three year old gelding Prize Fight (Tiznow) broke his maiden earlier this year at Gulfstream. Trying the 14 Hands Winery Sophomore Turf Stakes at Tampa Bay, he rallied well for the show position. He is owned by  Three Diamonds Farm and was bred by Haras Santa Maria de Araras S. A. & Tiznow Syndicate.

  • BIG day for the Maker barn

    ENTERPRISING won the G2- Muniz Memorial H at the Fair Grounds for owner Maxis Stable and pushed his earnings over 3/4 of a million dollars. ENTERPRISING, a game last out winner of the GIII Fair Grounds H.made it two straight with this narrow score.  He drew on the fence here and raced in striking distance then shot through an opening along the inside in the stretch and came out on top in a wild three-horse photo finish. 

    MSW OSCAR NOMINATED ran third in the G2- Muniz Memorial H at the Fair Grounds for the Ramseys and upped his earnings to $759,195.

    Designed for War added another graded stakes placing to his name in the G2- Pan American S for Three Diamonds Farm and has earned $204,287. To add to the fun for Three Diamonds Farm, Shiraz ran third in the Cutler Bay H also at Gulfstream.

    SW EN HANSE, winner of the WEBN Stakes last out, ran second in the John Battaglia Memorial S at Turfway for owners Bode Miller and Kendall Hansen, Also stakes placed today was Trust Factor who ran second in the Dixie Poker Ace S  at the Fair Grounds for owner Scrivener Stables. This was his first start in stakes company.

  • Good day at the races for the Maker barn

    Mike had bookends  in the WEBN S at Turfway Park, with EN HANSE the winner and Hunka Burning Love (by Into Mischief ) in third. It was thie first stakes win for EN HANSE  who is owned by Kendall E. Hansen and Bode Miller.  Dr. Hansen is the breeder as well and of course the owner of major SW HANSEN, The gray or roan colt went to the lead early although fanned out 7 wide. He cleared his field  for the win by 3 1/2 lengths. Also fanned very wide was Hunka Burning Love who made a bid in the stretch and checked in third for the Ramseys.

    To add to the day, PORTANDO had a nice win at PARX for his owner Three Diamonds Farm and raised his earnings over $129,000.

    HOT DAD ( Sidney's Candy) had a stakes placing already in the Kentucky Downs Juvenile Stakes. He added to that with an allowance win and now another stakes placing in the Keith Gee Memorial Overnight Stakes at the Fair Grounds. He is owned by Warner Thoroughbreds,  Jim, Setzer, Brett Setzer,and Triple R Racing, Inc. and has earned over $93,000.

  • Shiraz adds his first stakes placing in the Dania Beach S G3

    NY Bred Shiraz (Tale of the Cat) stepped up into graded stakes company in the Dania Beach G3 at Gulfstream after a graduating this fall at Belmont. He was checked early in the race but swung out to get up for third. He is owned by  Three Diamonds Farm and was bred by Lambholm.
